Montana Legal Services Association is the sole statewide provider of general civil legal assistance to Montanans living in poverty. MLSA has a full range of opportunities from limited scope assisted through in-person and phone advice clinics and full representation. MLSA often assists in facilitating local pro bono programs.
Alexander Blewett III School of Law offers a required, academic clinical program and a voluntary pro bono program to students for low-income and underrepresented Montanans. There are opportunities for attorneys to assist in providing services, including supervising and mentoring student attorneys to serve community needs.
United States District Court - District of Montana maintains a Civil Pro Bono Panel of volunteer attorneys pursuant to Rule 83.6 of the Local Rules of Procedure. The Civil Pro Bono Panel is the court's resource for identifying those members of the bar willing to make a pro bono contribution to the District of Montana.
Montana Legal Services Developer Program in the Office on Aging provides elder law training and resources for older adults, family members and social outreach workers. The program also develops pro bono and local legal services referrals, training materials and provides telephone assistance to older adults on related matters.
Montana Attorneys for Montana Veterans (MAMV) is a joint effort between the Montana Supreme Court, the Alexander Blewett III School of Law and the State Bar of Montana to help veterans with claims for disability benefits and discharge upgrades.

The State Bar of Montana Modest Means Program is a reduced fee civil representation program providing referral servcies for low to moderate income Montanans.
American Bar Association (ABA) Military Pro Bono Project - managed by the ABA Standing COmmittee on Legal Assistance for Military Personnel (LAMP) - accepts case referrals from military attorneys on behalf of junior-enlisted, active-duty military personnel and their families facing civil legal issues, and works to place these cases with pro bono attorneys. The Project is also the platform for Operation Stand-By, through which military attorneys and other pro bono attorneys may seek attorney-to-attorney guidance.
Ninth Circult of Appeals Pro Bono Appellate Program is designed to provide quality representation to pro se parties with meritorious or complext appeals, to provide valuable hands-on experience to law students and new attorneys, and to enhance the court's ability to process pro se cases equitably and efficiently.
