The Supreme Court reviews a district court's determination regarding the qualification and competency of an expert witness for an abuse of discretion. State v. Jay, 2013 MT 79, ¶ 15, 369 Mont. 332, 298 P.3d 396; see also Nesbitt v. City of Butte, 118 Mont. 84, 93, 163 P.2d 251, 256 (1945).
Trial courts are vested with great latitude in ruling on the admissibility of expert testimony. The Supreme Court reviews a district court's rulings on the admissibility of expert testimony for abuse of discretion. Cartwright
