A guardian ad litem is an officer of the court, assigned to represent the interests of a minor. Therefore, selection of a guardian ad litem is a matter which is committed largely to the discretion of the appointing judge. This Court will interfere with the exercise of that discretion only in a case of clear abuse. In re Krause, 2001 MT 37, ΒΆ 12, 304 Mont. 202, 19 P.3d 811 (citation omitted).
