Pay your State of Montana Attorney License Tax

"An attorney or counselor at law admitted by the supreme court of the state to practice within the state is required to pay a license tax of $25 a year. The tax is payable to and collected by the clerk of the supreme court on or before April 1 of each year." -- MCA 37-61-211

In past years, the State Bar of Montana has collected this tax as a contractor for the Clerk's office. Most attorneys simply paid the tax at the same time as they paid their bar dues. Going forward, the tax will be collected from active, active military, and inactive members of the bar directly by the Clerk's office.
