Juvenile Drug Court
The Eighth Judicial District Juvenile Drug Treatment Court (“JDC”) is a collaborative effort designed to assist chemically dependent youth involved with the criminal justice system. District Standing Master Kathleen Jensen presides over a multi-disciplinary team which includes members from Youth Court Services, law enforcement, Great Falls Public Schools, mental health providers, chemical dependency providers, family counselors, the Cascade County Detention Center staff, the Cascade County Attorney’s Office, the Office of the Public Defender, Kairos Youth Services, and the Center for Mental Health. This team provides and coordinates services for the youth participant and his or her caregivers on a weekly basis. The youth participant has weekly court hearings to ensure consistent judicial supervision and accountability with all court ordered activities, which include school attendance, academic progress, alcohol and drug testing, chemical dependency treatment, mental health treatment, and family counseling.
